What is executive coaching?
Executive coaching is an interactive process which is designed to help individuals develop
rapidly. It focuses on improving the manager's performance and / or behaviour in a work environment. It
is a goal-orientated form of highly personalised learning designed to cater for the needs of the busy manager
or executive. Executive coaching requires flexibility on the part of the coach to synchronise with managers during
the coaching intervention as each manager will have a unique knowledge base, learning pace and learning style.
The main characteristics of executive coaching are that it is a short-term, time limited,
paid for, goal specific, action orientated, personally tailored approach to learning. It utilises real-time
feedback and offers objectivity when dealing with the facts presented.
